PUBLIC DEVELOPMENT

INTERNATIONAL CIVIL SOCIETY FORUM/MEDIA CAMPAIGN

Globe International worked as member of Organizational Core Group of ICSF, which was held in September 2003 in Ulaanbaatar and had run Media campaign on democracy, good governance and civil society issues in a period from April 2003 till September 7, 2003.

Ms. H.Naranjargal, head of Globe International had taken presentation: "Media, Democratization, Civil Society"

Project contributed to its goal to raise awareness of the Mongolian citizens on issues of democracy, good governance and civil society and encourage a democratic participation of the citizens in discussing those issues through the media.

The project successfully achieved its objectives to:
- Establish and develop a culture and practice of civic journalism in Mongolia
- Raise public awareness of the Mongolian citizens on issues of democracy, good governance and civil society and encourage a democratic participation of the citizens in discussing those issues through the media.

Activities :

The project team in cooperation with Core Group organizations clearly defined an information strategy for media campaign with assistance of coordination group of ICSF and journalists. Media rallies were run through Mongolian National Radio, FM radio stations, TV channels and provincial television stations.

ÒV programs:
4 series of TV programs “Civil society and public participation” were produced and transmitted by Channel-25 TV. These programs also were aired by channel. TV9

" Civil society and public participation" series of TV programs were transmitted by provincial stations of Dund- Gobi, Uvs, Bayankhongor, Bulgan, Arkhangai, Sukhbaatar, Khentii, Darkhan, Dornod, Dorno-Gobi, Zavkhan, Khovd and Bayan-Olgii and Khovsgol aimags.

Radio programs :
8 radio programs on “Civil society-Public participation” were produced, transmitted and re-aired by Mongolian National Radio.
